Is your staff appreciated and thanked on a regular basis?

Keeping the staff happy is 90% of the battle. If the staff likes their work place it will show in their treatment of the doctor and especially the patients. Happy workers make for happy work days no matter what is thrown at them.

Keep your billing and charts current and legible.

This keeps your patients happy to see their claims processed immediately and no surprise bills 6 months later. Keeping your charts in order enables the staff to access patient information and complete requests without searching for the information on someone's desk.

Emergency Numbers

Keep emergency numbers in a handy spot near your telephones. Better yet, program your Speed Dial with emergency numbers.

Some numbers that are good to have at any time are:

  • Poison Control Center
  • Hospital ER
  • Fire Department
  • Police Department
  • Your Pediatrician
  • Your Work Numbers

Since accidents can happen in any part of the office, make copies of the completed list and post one near every telephone in the office.

Listen to your staff

Does your staff have some ideas that would make the office run smoother. Listen to them, let them research, plan and execute their suggestions. It just might work and everyone will feel like a member of a well organized working machine.
